The Fireye flame scanners are mounted directly on a sighting tube with male threads for target flame detection.
The UV1A series contain a UV tube and are designed for intermittent operation only.
The 48PT2 series contains a lead sulfide cell and can be used for continuous operation.
The 45UV5 series uses an electromechanical shutter mechanism and can be used for continuous operation.
The UV1A3 (0.9m cable length) and UV1A6 (1.8m cable length) flame scanners have a UV tube and are recommended for detecting flames in the combustion of natural gas, some exhaust gases and light oil (diesel).
The UV1AL3/6 and UV90L1/2 flame scanners have a UV tube and are recommended for detecting flames in the combustion of natural gas, some exhaust gases and light oil (diesel).
The L-Series flame scanners can only be used in conjunction with the BurnerPro automatic burner control system.
The 45UV5 Series flame scanners are equipped with an electromechanical test orifice for continuous operation. The 45UV5 Series, in conjunction with the compatible Fireye self-monitoring flame detector, detects the presence or absence of flames based on the ultraviolet radiation they emit.
Typical fossil fuels with UV radiation include natural gas, coke oven gas, propane, methane, butane, kerosene, light gasoline distillates, and diesel fuels.
The 48PT2 Series flame scanners are available with cable lengths of 1.2m and 2.4m, in either straight or 90° angled versions. The lead sulfide infrared semiconductor can detect low flicker frequency IR flame signals from gas and oil flames. The 48PT2 Series flame scanners are designed for continuous operation due to their operation in conjunction with the associated flame monitor or automatic burner control system.
The Fireye flame amplifiers are used to monitor manually started oil or gas burners. The associated flame sensors are connected to the flame detector with a flame detector cable. The flame detector is installed in a control cabinet and signals the presence of a flame to the higher-level burner control system with the closing of the internal flame relay contact.
The Fireye flame detector, through the use of plug-in amplifier modules, allows monitoring of flames with ultraviolet radiation for intermittent and continuous operation, as well as infrared monitoring according to the “AUTOCHECK” principle for continuous operation. The amplifier module provides test sockets for optimizing the flame signal.
The flame monitor can be used with the UV1A, 45UV5 and 48PT2 series flame scanners.
The safety time is determined by the amplifier module used.
The 70D40 version is used for 115VAC and the 70D41 version is used for 230VAC supply voltage.
No longer approved according to EN298:2012 (GAR), can only be used for installations with grandfathering.
The Fireye MBCE Series Flame Detectors provide visual indications and electrical outputs to the user regarding flame presence in a combustion chamber. The module is used with the Fireye UV – UV1AL and UV90L series flame scanners for independent detection of flame presence or as a component in a burner management system. The module provides a cost-effective method of monitoring flames with UV sensing and is not suitable for continuous operation.
The safety time is defined by ending the code number -1 for 1 second and -3 for 3 seconds.
The MBCE-110 version is used for 115VAC and the MBCE-230 version is used for 230VAC supply voltage.
The IR flame amplifier developed at d.s.f. GmbH is used together with the 48PT2 flame scanner series of the manufacturer Fireye on special installations, which do not fall under the standard DIN EN 298:2012, therefore the device has only passed the CE test. A possible field of application here is flame detection in biogas plants.
The IRG24 is operated with 24VDC supply voltage and provides a potential-free relay contact and a 4-20mA analog output in addition to the status displays.
